Stage 2 of the FBI Qualification Test is a pure draw-and-shoot string at 5 yards with a tight 3-second time limit. You draw from concealment and put three rounds into the FBI-QIT-99 target — no reload, no movement, no hand switches.
This is the fastest stage per-round in the entire qualification. Three seconds for a concealed draw plus three aimed shots means you need a sub-1.5-second draw and splits around 0.4–0.5 seconds. It rewards a clean, efficient draw stroke and aggressive but controlled trigger work.
The FBI Qualification Test is a 50-round standardized pistol course used by the FBI and adopted by law enforcement agencies worldwide. It uses the FBI-QIT-99 bottle-shaped target and is fired from concealment at distances from 3 to 25 yards. Passing score is 80% (40 hits). Instructor qualification requires 90% (45 hits).

Scoring
Any hit inside the scored area of the FBI-QIT-99 counts as 1 point (max 3). Part of the overall 50-round qualification — passing requires 40/50 (80%).
Tips
The concealment garment is the bottleneck. Practice your specific garment sweep until it is automatic — the draw cannot be fast if the clear is slow.
Progression
Isolate the draw stroke first — dry fire until you can clear the garment and present to target in under 1.3 seconds. Then add live fire. Target: all 3 hits in under 2.5 seconds.
