Stage 8 pushes the distance to 15 yards — a significant jump from the 7-yard stages. You draw from concealment and fire 3 rounds within 6 seconds. The time limit is generous, but the distance demands real sight alignment.

At 15 yards, acceptable combat accuracy requires genuine marksmanship. Point shooting does not work here. You need a solid sight picture on every shot and a trigger press that does not disturb it. This is where fundamentals either carry you or fail you.

Range Setup

15 yd / 14 mFBI-QIT-99DRAWEND15 yd

Setup

Stand facing the FBI-QIT-99 target at 15 yards. Pistol loaded and holstered under a concealment garment. Hands at your sides. Shot timer set.

Scoring

Any hit inside the scored area of the FBI-QIT-99 counts as 1 point (max 3). Part of the overall 50-round qualification — passing requires 40/50 (80%).

Tips

At 15 yards, accept a slightly longer sight picture. Your front sight should be clear and steady before the trigger breaks. Rushing the first shot from the draw is the most common error at this distance.

Progression

Practice at 15 yards with no time limit first. Once you can keep 10/10 on the silhouette, add the timer. Goal: 3/3 hits under 5 seconds including draw.
