Stage 10 pushes the standing unsupported shooting to 25 yards. From low ready, fire 2 rounds within 4 seconds. No position change, no support — just you, the carbine, and a target that is starting to get small.
At 25 yards the IPSC A-zone body is roughly 6 inches from the shooter’s perspective. Standing unsupported, a trigger press error or poor breathing can push a shot from A to C zone. The extra second compared to Stage 9 (4s vs 3s) is there because the precision demand is higher.
Stand facing a USPSA/IPSC target at 25 yards. Carbine loaded, on safe, at low ready. Shot timer set to 4-second par.
IPSC scoring: A/B = 5, C = 4, D = 3. Max: 10 pts. Single string.
Use the sling for tension — even a loose sling wrapped around the support arm adds stability. At 25 yards, the difference between a slung shot and an unslung shot can be a full zone.
At 25 yards standing, the wobble zone matters. Practice holding the carbine at full extension for 10-second holds to build stability. If you cannot keep the dot within the A-zone, your standing platform needs work.
