Stage 6 is the reload stage at 10 yards. You draw and fire 2 rounds, perform an emergency (slide-lock) reload, then fire 2 more rounds — all within 10 seconds. This is a single string, no repeats.

Ten seconds is generous for 4 rounds and a reload, which means the standard here is precision, not speed. At 10 yards with IPSC scoring, every round should be in the A-zone. Use the extra time to confirm your sights after the reload rather than rushing back to shooting.

Range Setup

Setup

Stand facing a USPSA/IPSC target at 10 yards. Primary magazine loaded with exactly 2 rounds. Spare magazine with 2+ rounds on belt. Pistol holstered. Shot timer set to 10 seconds.

Scoring

IPSC scoring: A/B = 5, C = 4, D = 3. Max: 20 pts. Single string — no repeats.

Tips

After the reload, pause for a beat at full extension to confirm your sight picture before breaking the third shot. The 10-second par gives you this luxury — use it.

Progression

Isolate the reload: slide lock to first shot on target under 2.5 seconds. Then integrate. You have 10 seconds total — use them for A-zone hits, not for beating the clock. Goal: 20/20 pts.
