Stage 7 introduces the kneeling position at 15 yards. You draw, drop to a kneeling position, and fire 2 rounds within 6 seconds. The string is repeated twice for 4 rounds total.

The 15-yard distance is where precision starts to matter significantly. The kneeling position provides a more stable platform than standing, but the transition from standing to kneeling while drawing takes practice. The 6-second par gives you time for a controlled descent and deliberate shots.

Setup

Stand facing a USPSA/IPSC target at 15 yards. Pistol loaded and holstered. Shot timer set to 6-second par. Ensure clear space to drop to a kneeling position.

Scoring

IPSC scoring: A/B = 5, C = 4, D = 3. Max per string: 10 pts. Stage total (2 strings): 20 pts.

Tips

Drop to the knee while drawing — do not draw first, then kneel. Simultaneous movement saves 1-2 seconds. Brace your elbow on the forward knee for maximum stability before firing.

Progression

Practice the draw-to-kneeling transition until it is smooth. Your knee should hit the ground and your sights should arrive on target at approximately the same moment. Goal: 20/20 points.
