Stage 6 combines movement with a body-to-head transition. From low ready at 15 yards, advance toward the target and fire 2 rounds into the body zone, then 1 round into the head zone — all while moving within a 4-second par, finishing at approximately 10 yards.

The body-to-head transition while advancing is a significant step up from the pure body shots in Stage 4. You must shift your point of aim from the large body zone to the small head zone while your platform is in motion. The head shot requires a deliberate pause in your trigger work — you cannot fire the head shot with the same tempo as the body shots.

Range Setup

Setup

Stand facing a Marine E silhouette (or USPSA/IPSC) target at 15 yards. Carbine loaded, on safe, in low ready. Vest and helmet worn. Shot timer set to 4-second par. Clear lane for forward movement to 10 yards.

Scoring

MARSOC scoring: A zone = 2 pts, B/C = 1, D/miss = 0. Max for stage: 6 pts (3 rounds — 2 body + 1 head).

Tips

Fire the body shots in your first 2 seconds, then use the remaining 2 seconds to settle and deliver the head shot. The head shot is worth the same points as a body shot — do not rush it and risk a miss (0 pts).

Progression

Practice the two-speed trigger: fast-fast for body, then a deliberate pause and slow press for the head. The transition from body cadence to head precision is the skill being tested. Goal: 6/6 pts with the head shot confirmed in the A-zone.
