Stage 13 is the tightest dual-target speed stage. Advance from 10 to 5 yards while firing 2 rounds into Target A and 2 rounds into Target B — 4 rounds within 3 seconds.
Three seconds for a presentation, four shots across two targets, and forward movement — this is where the MARSOC qualification separates top shooters from the rest. At this range the targets are close and the hits should be easy, but the par leaves almost no room for a slow swing or a fumbled mount. Your presentation must be sub-0.8 seconds, your splits sub-0.3, and your transition sub-0.6. Any one of those numbers being slow puts you over the par.
Range Setup
Setup
Two Marine E silhouette (or USPSA/IPSC) targets side by side at 10 yards. Carbine loaded, on safe, in low ready. Vest and helmet worn. Shot timer set to 3-second par. Clear lane for forward movement to 5 yards.
Scoring
MARSOC scoring: A zone = 2 pts, B/C = 1, D/miss = 0. Max for stage: 8 pts (4 rounds — 2 on A + 2 on B).
Tips
At 5-10 yards, trust your index — the targets are close enough that you do not need perfect sight pictures for body shots. Confirm the optic is roughly on the target and press. Speed of engagement matters more than precision refinement at this range.
Progression
Break down the time budget: 0.8s presentation, 0.25s split on A, 0.6s swing to B, 0.25s split on B, plus movement. Total: ~2.2s shooting + ~0.8s movement = 3.0s. There is zero slack. Every tenth of a second matters. Goal: 8/8 pts at exactly 3.0s.
