Return to Center is a Tactical Games two-gun aggregate built around a single cadence: every shot comes home. Seven steel plates stand in a row — one red 8″ (20 cm) center plate flanked by three silver plates on each side. You start on the nearest side plate (not the center), then drive back to the red, out to the next plate, back to the red, and keep working outward until every plate has rung. The same pattern repeats on the pistol up close.
Start in the far rifle box at 50 yd (46 m) with rifle at high ready, buttstock touching belt, pistol unloaded and holstered. On the beep, hit L1 (inside left), center, R1 (inside right), center, L2, center, R2, center, L3, center, R3, center — twelve rifle hits total. Unload, show clear, sling the rifle, and advance to the pistol box at 15 yd (14 m). Make the pistol ready and run the exact same sequence — twelve pistol hits. Every plate must give an audible hit before moving on.
Score is time plus penalties with a 90-second cap. The drill punishes sloppy transitions — re-indexing the center plate between every shot means your natural point of aim and target pickup have to be clean, or you’ll bleed seconds on every return. Track your rifle half-time, transition (unload + sling + move + make pistol ready), and pistol half-time separately to see which phase is costing you the cap.

Start position: standing in the rifle shooting box.
Each plate must receive one audible hit before proceeding to the next target in the sequence.
Twelve audible hits per gun (6 side plates + 6 returns to center = 12).
Total time = raw time + miss/procedural penalties per match rules.
Time cap: 90 seconds.
Missed plate or skipped center return = procedural per match rules.
Drive your eyes to the center plate on every return — let the sights follow. If you muscle the gun back, you'll overshoot and waste the next shot chasing the dot.
Cut the time cap — 75 s, then 60 s, then 50 s.
Force a mandatory rifle reload after the third return to center.
Start seated, kneeling, or prone in the rifle box.
Require concealment for the pistol draw.
Mirror the stage: pistol first at 15 yd (14 m), then rifle at 50 yd (46 m).
