LCR Pistol is a Tactical Games time-plus stage built around a simple but punishing footwork pattern. Two 8″ (20 cm) square steel plates stand 10 yd (9 m) downrange, one above each of two shooting boxes set wide apart. Each shooting box has a barricade attached to its inner edge. From the left box you engage the left plate; from the right box you engage the right plate — straight ahead, not across.

Start straddling the center stick, pistol loaded and holstered, hands below the belt. On the beep, break to either the left or right shooting box, drop one clean hit on the plate on that side, then sprint to the other box and hit its plate. Keep shuttling until twelve rounds are on the clock. Every miss costs a full shuttle run — current box to the opposite box and back — before you can re-engage the plate you flubbed.

Score is total time with a 90-second cap. The drill exposes sloppy splits, bad footwork entering the box, and any tendency to break the shot before the sights are stable. Track your shuttle time and your first-shot hit rate separately — chasing time is free when you’re hitting, but every miss buys you roughly two more seconds of running before you can finish the stage.

Setup

Two 8" (20 cm) square steel plates downrange at 10 yd (9 m), one above each shooting box (left plate above left box, right plate above right box).
Two shooting boxes at 10 yd (9 m) from the plates, one on the left and one on the right, set wide apart.
One barricade per box, attached to the box: the left barricade touches the top-right corner of the left box and extends to the left; the right barricade touches the top-left corner of the right box and extends to the right.
A center stick or marker between the two shooting boxes defines the start position.
Pistol loaded, holstered. Two or three magazines of 6+ rounds on belt (12 rounds min).
Full Tactical Games kit.
Start position: standing astride the center stick, one foot on each side, hands below the belt.

Scoring

One audible hit on the same-side steel per visit to a shooting box.
Twelve total hits required (one magazine of 12 or equivalent split).
From the left box engage the left plate; from the right box engage the right plate. Shots are straight ahead, not cross-lane.
Any shot that does not produce an audible hit forces one shuttle run (current box → opposite box → back) before re-engaging the same plate.
Total time = raw time + penalty time per match rules. Time cap: 90 seconds.

Tips

Enter each box hard and stop the feet before you break the shot — a shuttle run back to re-engage a missed plate costs more time than two deliberate shots ever will.

Progression

Cut the time cap — 75 s, then 60 s.
Force a mandatory reload mid-stage (after round 6).
Swap the 8" plates for smaller 6" (15 cm) steel to tighten precision demand.
Add a third box in the center with a head-height plate for a high-low pattern.
