Stage 6 is a mid-range baseline — 2 rounds from low ready at 10 yards within 3 seconds. No position changes, no reloads, no movement. This stage tests pure carbine presentation speed and accuracy at a distance where both should be easy.

After the complexity of Stages 3-5, this is a reset point. The 3-second par at 10 yards with a carbine is generous. Use this stage to bank easy points — both rounds should be deep in the A-zone. If they are not, your fundamentals need work.

Range Setup

10 yd / 9 mIPSCLOW READYEND10 yd

Setup

Stand facing a USPSA/IPSC target at 10 yards. Carbine loaded, on safe, at low ready. Shot timer set to 3-second par.

Scoring

IPSC scoring: A/B = 5, C = 4, D = 3. Max: 10 pts. Single string.

Tips

Mount the carbine, confirm the dot on center mass, press. At 10 yards the target fills the optic window — trust it and shoot.

Progression

This is a free-points stage. Both rounds should always be A-zone. If your low-ready-to-first-shot time is under 1 second, you have 2 full seconds for sight confirmation. Practice until this stage is automatic.
