Stage 9 is a quick two-round string at 15 yards — the same format as Stage 1 and 6 but at increased distance. From low ready, disengage safety, present the carbine and fire 2 rounds within 3 seconds.
At 15 yards the A-zone is still large through a red dot or LPVO, but the 3-second par demands a faster presentation than the previous simple stages. There is less room for hesitation. This stage rewards shooters who have built a consistent, quick low-ready-to-shot presentation.
Range Setup
Setup
Stand facing a USPSA/IPSC target at 15 yards. Carbine loaded, on safe, at low ready. Shot timer set to 3-second par.
Scoring
IPSC scoring: A/B = 5, C = 4, D = 3. Max: 10 pts. Single string.
Tips
The carbine presentation is identical to 5 and 10 yards. Only the sight confirmation takes slightly longer. Do not change your mechanics — trust the process.
Progression
Compare your first-shot time here to Stages 1 and 6. It should be the same — the presentation does not change with distance, only your sight confirmation time increases. Goal: 10/10.
