Stage 9 opens Phase 2 with the introduction of two targets. From low ready at 50 yards, fire 2 rounds standing into Target A, transition to kneeling, then fire 2 rounds into Target B — all within 11 seconds.
Phase 2 of the MARSOC qualification adds the multi-target engagement dimension. You must now split your fire between two separate targets, which requires lateral movement of the muzzle while maintaining shot quality. At 50 yards, the targets are far enough that the lateral swing between them is significant. The position change from standing to kneeling mid-string adds physical complexity. Firing standing at A and kneeling at B tests whether you can maintain accuracy through a position transition while also tracking to a new target.
Two Marine E silhouette (or USPSA/IPSC) targets placed side by side at 50 yards. Carbine loaded, on safe, in low ready. Vest and helmet worn. Shot timer set to 11-second par.
MARSOC scoring: A zone = 2 pts, B/C = 1, D/miss = 0. Max for stage: 8 pts (4 rounds — 2 on Target A + 2 on Target B). Phase 2 (Stages 9-14) max: 52 pts.
Fire your standing shots at A, then use the kneeling transition as your swing time to B. By the time your knee hits the ground, your optic should already be on Target B. Combine the position change with the target switch.
Practice the standing-to-kneeling transition with a target switch. The swing from A to B while dropping to a knee must be one fluid motion, not two separate actions. Goal: 8/8 pts under 9 seconds.
